CCOL RULES

Here are the amended rule for the CCOL which were used for the 2007/08 league and are in force for this season.  The main reason for the changes detailed below were to level the playing field and allow anyone in the club the chance to challenge for honours!  It became very apparent that the fastest people were only going to win the overall champion so a handicap system has been introduced.

In normal years the CCOL will run from September through to May culminating in a club BBQ/fun event/prize giving.  It will be run on local/district events hopefully numbering between 10-15 events.   Scoring will be based on speed per kilometre at that event measured across all courses, ie:
100 pts to the fastest, 99 pts to second fastest etc

To take account of the lower technical difficulty on some colours the times on the following courses will be loaded as follows:
Colour
Loading
Light Green
+10%
Red
+30%
Orange
+30%
Yellow
+40%
White
+50%

In addition all juniors and all ladies will have a reduction of 20% on their speed of sec/km.

65% of the total number of events rounded up (ie if there are 6 events 65% equals 3.9 therefore four to count; if we have 9 events 65% equals 5.85 rounded up to 6 events) will count towards final position.  To reflect the fact that not everyone can get to 65% of events an 'upper tier' has been introduced which for this season will be for those competing in a third or more of listed races.  Those in this upper tier will have their league position given by their average points score for those races entered (ie if someone has scored 94, 98, 90, 98, 98 their league average would be 95.6).  Those competitors not managing to qualify for the upper tier will have their league position decided by the total points as previously.  Those in the lower tier will be listed in the league below those in the upper tier.

Planners, organisers and controllers will receive a nominal score for an event missed based on the average of their scores over the season.
