Venue and parking

Brimham Rocks and Moor near Harrogate.  Grid Ref of car park: SE 208645.  Postcode HG3 4DW.  Sign posted from the B6165 Ripley to Pateley Bridge Road.  Park only in National Trust car park £3.50 Pay and Display for up to 4 hours – coins only in the machines. NT members free.

 

Map and terrain

Scale: 1:10000; 5m contours.  At a height of nearly 300m, Brimham enjoys spectacular views over the surrounding countryside. Set within the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this fascinating moorland is filled with strange and fantastic rock formations and is rich in wildlife.

 

Courses

Badge courses:  JM/W 1 to 4; JM5L/M/S; JW5L/S; M/W 21-75L/S; M/W 21V Colour-coded courses: White, Yellow, Orange and Light Green.  A free String course will also be provided.

Times

Registration - 10.00 to 12.00                   Courses close 14:30

Starts - 10.30 to 12.30                           

Fees

Badge courses only. Internet entry (prefered) :    Seniors £10.00 (£8 BOF),   Juniors £3.00

Note: Entries are limited to 500 by the National Trust, so there may be no entry on the day for Badge Courses.  Competitors are encouraged to pre-enter.  See web site for last minute information.

E-Punching and dibbers

Sportident will be used on all courses.

Dibbers available for hire.  Seniors £1.00,  Juniors    50p

Facilities

The National Trust toilets will be used which are near to the Start.  Water will be available at the finish.

Dogs

Dogs need to be kept under strict control at all times

Safety

Competitors take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety. Whistles will be compulsory. Cagoules may be.

Cancellation

In the event of cancellation due to bad weather, details will be posted on the Claro website.  Information can also be obtained by phoning the organiser.  Part of the entry fee may be retained to cover committed expenses.
