3.         Chairman’s Report

 

Chris Dicken read his report summarising the Club’s activities and endeavours over the last year.  The report will be published in full in the Clarion.

 

4.         Treasurers Report

 

Sandra Appleton presented the accounts for 2005/6 which had been audited and found correct by Chris Shovelton.  Key issues arising from the report were as follows:

 

§            The accounts showed a surplus of 14p over the year

§            Event income was down on 2004/5

§            Income from membership fees were the same as last year

§            The accumulated surplus stood at £5052.22 on 31 August 2006

 

The accounts were proposed by Lindsey Hensman, seconded by Tim Moon and accepted by all.

 

5.         Membership fees

 

It was agreed to keep membership fees at the level of 2004/5:

6.         Appointment of Auditor

 

Chris Shovelton was thanked for auditing the accounts and was elected auditor for the year 2006/7.

9.         Any Other Business

 

a)         Chairman

This is the last year of Chris’s 3-year term of office.  A replacement needs to be found.

 

            b)         New BOF membership scheme

Chris Dicken outlined the new scheme which is to take effect from January 2007.

 

c)                  SI kit

At a recent YHOA meeting it was suggested that each Club in the region should buy its own kit rather than sharing as we do now.  A proposal was agreed to keep to the current system.

 

d)                  YHOA Development Conference

YHOA are proposing to hold a development conference covering: how to attract and keep new members, a review of regional competitions, co-operation between clubs and putting on a regional 3-day event.  Attendance at the conference would be open to anyone interested.

 

e)                  Permanent orienteering course – Harlow Hill

Claro has obtained an ‘Awards for All’ grant to set up the permanent course.  A suitable day in the coming year will be chosen to launch the course.

 

f)                    Compass Sport Trophy

Mike Hind will distribute information on the event shortly.  The Club will pay for the entry.

 

g)         Cost of loo hire

The issue of hire costs for the loos at our events was raised.  We currently pay £200 for two porta-loos.  It was thought that we should be able to get a lower hire charge from an alternative supplier while receiving the same level of service that we are currently given.  This will be addressed during the coming year.
