§      The Night event has standard timed starts between 17:30 and 18:30

§      The map scale is 1:7500 except for White and Yellow courses, which are  at 1:5000

§      All maps are pre-bagged

§      All courses have control descriptions on the map or on the back of the map; separate control descriptions will be available

§      The Brown course uses two maps printed back-to-back

§      The Green course is slightly longer than usual but includes path/road legs between the Pine Woods and Birk Crag.

§      The public have free access to the whole area and as such there are always seasonal paths springing up.  Where possible these paths have been mapped but please take this into account when out in the woods.

§      Some wet features may have dried out

Road Crossings

All the Day courses cross a main road - Please take care when crossing this road.   To give you chance to cross safely you will be given up to one minute to get between the controls at each side of the road (you must punch both these controls).   This time taken will be deducted from your total course time.  There will be a marshal at the crossing point at all times.

The Red, Green, Blue and Brown courses (and the Medium and Long night courses) also include some road/track section on an access road.  Please be aware of any cars along this route.

String Course

A string course is available at the Day event on Sunday 18th November 2007, please follow signs or ask at registration.
