The footpath runs take place on Thursday evening in the summer and pavement runs in the winter - we meet at 7pm, usually in a pub car park. For summer runs, the organiser will provide a few photocopied maps with suggested routes marked on. For winter runs we weave around the pavements and cul-de-sacs of the estate roads. There is usually a choice of distances (between 6 and 10km). There are a range of abilities and speeds but the fast end of the range is generally missing. Everyone welcome - all the summer venues would be nice for a ramble or a bike ride too if you prefer. We then go into the pub for the main business of the evening - food, natter (bring your last event’s maps!) and pints of bitter shandy. We are usually in the pub by 8:15pm, so if you can’t make the run, come along to the real business. See, we are not your hard, serious types; we don't drink six pints of beer after running ten miles in an hour.
