Venue and parking

 

The area is approximately 1 mile north of Pateley Bridge. Parking area is off Wath Lane   
Please only approach the event from the East. The event will be signed from the NE from the  B6265 at Blazefield,  and from the south; B6165 at Glasshouses.
Note there is a very acute left turn at Blazefield when coming up the hill from Glasshouses – take care.

Parking at Wath Lane  GR SE164669, HG3 5NF, Approach from the East.

Charge £1 per car.

 

Map and terrain

Scot Gate Ash is a compact area on a SW facing slope to the north of Pateley Bridge. Consisting of a complex disused quarry area surrounded by moorland and with some small sloping areas of woodland.  

There are some steep crags in the quarry area, some will be taped and courses will be designed to make safe use of the area.

 Courses

White to Blue and will include a short green. String course.
Registration and toilets will be adjacent to the parking area.
The start is 800m from the car park and the finish 300m.

Fees

Fees Senior £7 (£5 for British Orienteering members), Juniors £2. The string course is free

E-Punching and dibbers

Sportident will be used on all courses.

Dibbers available for hire.  Seniors £1.00,  Juniors    50p

Facilities

Portaloos near car parking.

Dogs

Dogs need to be kept under strict control at all times, and not allowed in the competition area.

Safety

Competitors take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety. If travelling alone, please leave car keys at registration.

Cancellation

In the event of cancellation due to bad weather, details will be posted on the Claro website.
